A check-in on the ever-evolving Integrated Safety System concept vehicle that Delphi has packed full of intelligent vehicle technology.

Delphi's Integrated Safety System (ISS) concept vehicle is well known as one that "brings it all together" -- sensors, data management, electronics, and telematics -- to create a "safety-fused" environment.  The concept encompasses over 50 Delphi technologies to address normal, warning, collision avoidable, collision unavoidable, and post-crash situations.

The company keeps adding interesting features; here's the latest list of key IV items (either on the vehicle or part of the overall ISS strategy):

  • Forewarn adaptive cruise control

  • Forewarn collision warning

  • Driver Workload Management

  • Communiport mobile multimedia

  • Forward/rear parking assist

  • Lane Change Warning

  • Automatic windshield fog prevention

  • Road surface condition monitor

  • Adjustable headlight direction

  • Emergency sickness alert (a clever euphemism for drowsy driver warnings??)
