The IV industry is fortunate to have a new textbook describing recent developments in this field. Written by the leading experts in the field – practicing professionals from both industry and academia - “Intelligent Vehicle Technologies” provides information on a range of key IV elements such as intelligent sensors, vehicle control, navigation, and communication systems. As
the book’s flyer states, “intelligent solutions such as in-car navigation
devices and cruise control are already being introduced into modern vehicles,
but manufacturers are now racing to develop systems such as 'smart' cruise
control, on-vehicle driver information systems, collision avoidance systems,
vision enhancement, vehicle-to-vehicle communication systems and roadworthiness
diagnostics systems.” Editors are Dr. L.
Vlacic, Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia; M. Parent, INRIA, France;
and F. Harashima, Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Technology, Tokyo,
Japan. A listing of the contents is below; for more information, see the promotional flyer (Acrobat file, 175Kb).
