"By cooperating with one of the world's leading radar technology companies, we are in a great position to leverage our systems and electronics expertise with Raytheon's radar technology," said John Barkley, director of Advanced Cross Systems for Visteon. "Visteon is really focusing on offering system solutions to our customers that will provide a wide-array of safety and security products like radar sensing technology." Visteon and Raytheon will cooperate
in the design and development of products and technologies centered on advanced
radar technologies like near-object-detection system modules.
Together with Raytheon, Visteon anticipates being able to develop
technologies that explore advanced system integration in electronics to surround
the vehicle with sensing in their “Smart Radar Cocoon” concept (see related
article). By taking radar-based technology
and combining it with studies about how humans interact with machines and
electronics, Visteon and Raytheon plan to cooperate to bring to market
"next generation" detection capabilities for the immediate vehicle
environment. Such a partnership, by marrying programmable systems to
advanced radar capability, may in fact take object detection to the next level. [Top] ... see www.visteon.com. [Top]
