GM Submits Patent Application for Forward Collision Threat Assessment Algorithm

General Motors has submitted a patent application for its Forward Collision Threat Assessment Algorithm developed within the GM-NHTSA ACAS program (see related IVsource article).  The patent was submitted by Dr. Ron Colgin, recently retired from GM,  and Dr. Osman Alta.  

Based upon the GM-NHTSA contract agreement, the patent contains a clause granting a US government right to the patent claim.

The patent number is 10/272,532.
